How can I possibly describe my visit to Ottawa Valley Vision in a few words?! In short, remarkable--amazing human beings first-&-foremost, but impressive way in which they work in unison👏. Like me, you won't be disappointed. From Megan to Robin, Vicki, and last, but definitely not least, is Dr. Jefferies. From the moment you walk in, the environment is welcoming/modern w/ a great deal of character, very well kept, and the like.The size is deceiving as the building is shockingly expansive with specialized areas that provide top-notch testing. You will feel as if you met your new best friends--my goodness, they are just such kind souls--definitely hired based on 'like' personalities--great choices Dr. Jefferies! I will never forget them. Robin, no words to express how grateful I am to have met you....your disposition alone put me in a different mindset/space. Wonderful staff, great selection of frames, exceptional optometrists

After an unexpected break in my frames from sports, I was looking to replace them with the exact style. Zoe went above and beyond contacting the appropriate team to find me the same style after they were unavailable in office and discussed my options! She kept me in the loop updating me as soon as they arrived. After countless visits to adjust the fit, the girls (Zoe and Clare) were always so welcoming and eager to help out! From start to finish the entire team played a role! Jenny and Vicki are so personable at the front, they take the time to know their clients and answer any questions. It’s always a wonderful visit each time!

Ottawa Valley Vision is top notch! Their Pembroke "showroom" is beautiful, as is the entire clinic- set in a gorgeous restored and historic building in downtown Pembroke. I'm not an expert but their equipment seems very modern and I have only ever had excellent care in their hands. Highly recommend!!

I had a wonderful experience at this eye clinic. The staff were extremely kind, and welcoming. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. I also really appreciated how accommodating they were when I mentioned I needed to leave by a certain time, they were very respectful of my schedule while still making sure everything was thorough. The whole team was professional and attentive, and the appointment went smoothly. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for excellent eye care!!:))

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Ottawa Valley Vision. They are one of the few clinics in Canada who carry Flying Eyes frames and accessories (if you know, you know) so I was very happy to find a clinic within driving distance (I'm in Ottawa) that I could purchase from. Samantha was amazing from first contact until I picked up my glasses, demonstrating fantastic service, and quickly and helpfully answering all of my questions along the way. Thank you Samantha! Other staff members I dealt with were equally pleasant and helpful, and the Petawawa clinic is beautifully renovated. I would 100% return to Ottawa Valley Vision in the future!

They’re especially wonderful with kids, making appointments stress‑free and enjoyable. Excellent staff

My first visit was an excellent experience! • Receptionist Jennifer cheerfully and efficiently facilitated my transfer from Dr. Sullivan (now retired) without any issues. • Optometric Assistant Sarah was delightfully upbeat while performing the pre-exam tests. She recommended retinal photos in a no-pressure manner, clearly mentioning the additional $55 cost. Given my retinal concerns, I was glad to accept. • Dr. Dang was friendly, professional, and attentive. He listened carefully, answered all my questions, and documented everything thoroughly on his laptop. For a more comprehensive exam, he offered drops that would increase light sensitivity for about three hours. I appreciated the clear explanation and agreed. • Optical Consultant Jody was helpful and informative as we discussed new technology and pricing for progressive lenses. She provided guidance without any sales pressure, and I appreciated being able to take the information home to consider my options. The appointment began only a few minutes late, lasted over an hour, and I never felt rushed at any point. Highly recommend this clinic for their professionalism, friendliness, and patient-centered care.

What a great place! I had an eye emergency and they were able to get me in, just a few hours later! Everyone was very friendly and professional! Would highly recommend OVV!

The staff and doctors at the Pembroke location are ABSOLUTELY phenomenal human beings! My child is on the Autism Spectrum and Dr. Jose managed to measure an accurate prescription for him. AND he even wears his glasses! I highly recommend this place and it saved me a long drive (and wait list) with CHEO.

Where to begin without writing a novel about how incredible my experience has been…. After having a very bad experience with new staff at my former optometrist’s office, a friend recommended OVV. I was really struggling with vision issues due to onset binocular vision (double Vision). They referred me to our local “expert” who shall remain anonymous. This “expert” did not once make eye contact with me, typed away on the previous patient’s file, seemed not to care that I was suffering with my new lack of vision and he barely listened to me. After a year of returning for 4 appointments where the same tests were done over and over with no diagnosis or help I was fed up. A year is a very long time when you can’t see properly and you are getting NO answers. Finally I convinced either him or my new optometrist at my old optometrist’s office to refer me to Ottawa. I was sent to an ophthalmology surgeon’s office who didn’t give me much information whatsoever. The office was JAMMED with people, barely a chair to sit in, in several of the waiting rooms. I was offered surgery that involved straightening my lazy eye then follow up with more surgery over and over until it MIGHT be better by adjusting stitches or something…. Like I said, very confusing and not at all convincing! Excuse me?! Finally, a friend referred me to OVV and I saw Dr. Jose who was so very informative. She took the time to properly do extensive testing. She gave me a diagnosis and educated me about what I call “eye physiotherapy”, aka, extensive exercises for the eye(s) to correct my vision. She made another appointment for me with Dr. Jeffries, who is an expert in the field from what I gather (I just happened to notice she graduated with Honours). BOTH of these doctors spent from 10:15 am until after 1 pm thoroughly testing me and retesting me. They did not even take a lunch break. Dr. Jeffries thoroughly explained EVERY step of the process. Where do you ever see dedication like that?! To make a very long story shorter, (too late) I will finally sleep soundly tonight. Thank you doctors, you will never know how grateful I am. I look forward to seeing all of the wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, PROFESSIONAL staff every week for the next 52 weeks!!! Sincerely, Mary Lynn Pilatzke

I have since moved away, but saw OVV throughout 2022-2023 during a difficult time medically. They were so much more helpful in getting my vision sorted out that the ophthalmologists that I had seen. Dr. Maione was friendly, professional and provided lots of great information, and the staff were always helpful. Once I moved away, they forwarded an rx from my file to my new optometrist (for cross-reference) within a few minutes of receiving the request, and also took the time to contact me to confirm they had done it and that they had sent a copy to me too. Excellent service. Lovely people. Rock on OVV. :-)

Where to begin. From the time I stepped into the office until the time I left, it was an unbelievable experience! Everything was top notch....ALL the employees were extremely friendly yet very professional. Just waiting for my appointment time, you could see and hear their upbeat attitude and friendliness. It made me feel relaxed and at home as this was my first time there due to my former optometrist retiring. So, not knowing what expect sure was put to rest in a hurry with the staff having things well in hand. You could see their competency and love of their work up front. Sarah was so friendly and calming and I appreciate all she did for me at the beginning of my appointment. Then to Dr. Letwinetz, where she was extremely professional, knowledgeable and understanding. I felt like I have been a patient for years there. A major shout out to ALL the staff members there. I want to thank Ottawa Valley Vision for taking my family as patients this year when Dr. Folz retired. Your staff made the transition seamless. The front desk staff was very pleasant both on the phone and in person when we all went for our first appointments at the beginning of the summer. My optometrist retired in early 2024 after providing me with 42 years of service. I had my first visit with OVV and their newest optometrist, Dr. Kristen Letwinetz, today. The clinic is a topnotch 5-star operation. I was greeted by Vicki and quickly transitioned into routine diagnostics with Jessica , who was friendly, professional and patient. The transition to seeing Dr. Letwinetz was also timely and completely satisfying. Kristen was able answer my questions and make recommendations in a friendly, professional manner. Julia and Clair were able to fit me with a new pair of glasses, with patience and an excellent sense of function and style. Thanks to OVV staff, I have made a successful transition to a new optometry clinic. I will look forward to returning and highly recommend their services.

I don't know where to start. My elderly parents had been going to the same optometrist for decades but he retired. Luckily we were directed to this office, and thank God because this office is a Godsend. Right from the initial phone call to make an appointment Lauren was so helpful and patient and accommodating and kind. We just had my mother's appointment today. We were treated like royalty by Lauren and Jody and Dr. Maione. Lauren is so pleasant that anyone would be lucky to have her working for them. The same thing goes for Jody. She was so kind and helpful with my mom, so efficient and sweet that you could not ask for a better employee when dealing with the elderly or the public in general. We saw Dr. Maione for the first time. I am so grateful we got such a knowledgeable, kind and compassionate doctor. She was so good with my mom. Then we got to meet Vicki on our way out (also a very sweet person) and said goodbye to Lauren who just made such an impact on us. In summary, INCREDIBLE staff, INCREDIBLE doctor, the office itself is clean and beautifully decorated, top of the line equipment and very professional but with a compassionate human touch. Cannot recommend this optometrist's office enough! If I could give TEN stars I would.
